Laura Dooley's Success Story
I decided about a year ago that I was going to try to lose weight and get healthy. I tried working out on machines at the gym, however it became boring after sometime and I wasn’t seeing the results of my effort. So I tried a workout class, B.Fab. At first I thought, wow this is hard, but I was soaked with sweat so I knew it was a great workout. I really loved the music, the mix of different types of dance, and the energy in the atmosphere. I decided to keep going to the class and I have been hooked ever since. So far, I have lost 48 lbs. doing B.Fab with Rebecca in the past year. I have lost 4 pants sizes and I feel awesome!!! I love going to B.Fab, it’s the best part of my day! Rebecca is the best instructor. She works really hard, has amazing energy, and always keeps me motivated. She keeps our workouts fresh by teaching us new songs, having themed parties, and letting us requests our favorites. I also love the great community of women that come together at our B.Fab classes. I have made some great friends that encourage me and keep me motivated. I would definitely recommend B.Fab with Rebecca to anyone who is looking for a great way to lose weight. It is a class you look forward to going to and you can see the results pretty fast. It is a great workout and it is so much fun!!!

 I’ve never been particularly skinny…. not ever. In my youth I was usually what people considered “chunky”, “curvy”, or “healthy”, all the nice things people say to spare your feelings. No one event triggered my weight gain growing up. Since I’ve always enjoyed food, eating just felt natural.  Although I’ve had several intervals where I lost weight, over the years the weight constantly moved up, and my standards as to how I wanted to look moved down. As I settled into family life and started having kids it became less and less important to watch my weight.  Even being diagnosed with high blood pressure didn’t make me think twice about my weight. 

It wasn’t until my second pregnancy that things started to go downhill for me. My weight ballooned from 215lbs to 267 lbs by my sixth month of pregnancy. I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and preeclampsia at six and a half months. By the time I had the baby I was 297lbs. That was a death sentence for my 5’2 frame. I knew then that I needed to do something, and fast. 

Some girlfriends of mine invited me to try B.Fab with them. I’ve always loved to dance so I decided to give it a try. My first thought during the class was “Wow, this white girl can really dance” (LOL!) My first thought after the class was, “Wow!  That was so much fun!”  It was like I’d gone to a party and danced for an hour. I loved that the instructor (Rebecca) was so passionate and that her passion rubbed off on everyone else and made them just as passionate as she was. I enjoyed the combination and variations of the Latin music followed by hip hop that she put together and the fact that I could burn a lot of calories and have fun in the process.  So I started going every other day.  I lost 5lbs in the first week. I couldn’t believe it! I changed my diet a little bit and incorporated B.Fab into my daily activities and I have lost a total of 88lbs since March 2009.  I feel like I have finally found a permanent solution to my weight loss. I still have a long way to go, but I’m happier than I’ve ever been.
